What happened
The Re Bontše Lesotho initiative has worked with emerging local filmmakers and photographers to promote the country through their own images. Developed with Limkokwing University, the programme attracted around 100 video submissions from all ten districts and supports the Lehakoe Photobank.
Who is behind it
The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation worked with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and local participants.
Why it matters
Destination marketing depends on people who can make compelling images. The initiative creates a channel for aspiring visual creators to produce work rooted in their own communities while supporting tourism promotion.
Beyond the story
The photobank offers a way for locally produced tourism imagery to remain useful beyond a single competition or campaign.
