Nélida Karr brings a voice from Equatorial Guinea into focus

Singer-songwriter Nélida Karr has developed a music career connected to Equatorial Guinea’s contemporary creative scene. Her work brings another perspective to a region whose performers rarely appear in wider African music coverage.

Nélida Karr is the artist at the centre of the story.

An individual music career is also built through songwriting, performance, visual identity and collaboration. Featuring her makes space for Equatoguinean creative talent in a collection that spans well beyond the largest music markets.

Her music gives listeners an entry point into Equatorial Guinea’s cultural output and the artists developing it.
