What happened
Fait de Sénégal is a one-minute film for water brand Kirène, following movement and daily life across Dakar. Markets, traffic, people and familiar places appear to the music of Orchestra Baobab, with Kirène water moving naturally through the scenes.
Who is behind it
The film was created by Kinkeliba and produced by Couro Prod. Directors Kes-Tchaas Eccleston and Xavier Damase worked with producer Ibra Dia, cinematographer Sam Meyer and a Senegal-based crew.
Why it matters
The film turns local observation into a distinctive advertising execution. It also demonstrates the production capability behind the work: direction, casting, design, cinematography, editing and sound brought together in Senegal.
Beyond the story
The soundtrack and the city itself are essential creative elements of the piece, allowing the brand to sit within a recognisable slice of contemporary Senegal.
